16 Genius Kohl’s Shopping Hacks
Kohl’s is not a discount store.
It’s a genuine department store complete with a Sephora – but savvy Kohl’s shoppers have learned how to get the same prices (and even better prices) as T.J. Maxx.
Offering multiple ways to save money, Kohl’s can be your one-stop shop for the entire family, home goods, toys, and more.
These Kohl’s shopping hacks save even more money on your next spending spree.
1. Use Expired Kohl’s Cash
One of the reasons customers love Kohl’s is because it is so easy to earn Kohl’s Cash.
For every $50 you spend, you get $10 in Kohl’s Cash.
There are also times when Kohl’s offers other Cash Rewards, such as $5 for every $25 you spend.
The green Kohl’s Cash has expiration dates, but you can still use this Kohl’s Cash for up to 7 days after the expiration date.

2. Join Kohl’s Loyalty Program
If you frequent Kohl’s, it is an absolute must that you join the Kohl’s Rewards loyalty program.
You can do this in-store, online, or via the Kohl’s app.
When you make a purchase, show your Rewards barcode, and you will earn 5% in Kohl’s Rewards.
The money goes directly into your Kohl’s wallet for you to redeem when you are ready.
3. Get Kohl’s Cash or Coupons for Amazon Returns
If you ever have an Amazon return, do not take it to the post office or UPS. Instead, take it to Kohl’s.
Kohl’s has an Amazon Returns Dropoff location in-store that will pack and ship the items for you at no cost.
This may seem strange, but Kohl’s and Amazon work together.
Best of all – Kohl’s rewards you for doing the return through their store with a $5 Kohl’s Cash Reward or 15% to 25% off coupons.
You get money without spending any money!

5. Price Matching
Yes, price matching is possible at Kohl’s, but it only applies in the following situations:
- When shopping in-store at Kohl’s, check to see the price of the same item at Kohls.com. If the Kohls.com price is lower, the physical store will price match.
- Kohl’s physical stores only price match competitors’ physical stores – not their online stores.
- Kohls.com will price match competitors’ online store prices, but you have to contact Kohls.com at (855) 564-5705 to request a price match.
NOTE: There are many occasions where Kohl’s will NOT price match, such as during big sale events.
